Bossard married Aritan in 1999, and the couple have teamed up to fight for their business. Both of them are proponents of saving as well as profiting from renewable resources in the fishing industry. Otolith was founded by Philadelphia by Bella Bossard who is now the mother of two children who are aged three and one Bossard. The name Otolith serves as a fond reminder of Bossard's intimate knowledge about fish biology and her husband's many connections in the business of fishing. It is common for them to be apart for five months at a stretch while they strive to achieve financial and environmental goals that show their determination to their independence no matter where they reside.
